SIALOENDOSCOPY
This procedure was first employed in Colombia by Dr. Alvaro Sanabria, who specialized in this technique with its creator in Europe.
Salivary gland endoscopy (sialoendoscopy or sialendoscopy) is a new and minimally invasive procedure that allows for the diagnosis and treatment of salivary gland secondary pathologies and duct disorders.
It is a diagnostic method used to rule out inflammatory processes of the glands (diagnostic sialoendoscopy) and to treat pathological areas (stenosis, removal of foreign bodies or stones) through a tiny endoscope which helps in the detection of pathologies which until now had gone unnoticed.
From a therapeutic point of view, it is an alternative to conventional surgery, with minimally invasive procedures, ambulatory in most cases, with fewer risks and complications for the patient, as well as a lower recurrence rate.
